Jul 02, 2018

This summer, the Clements Center funded eight students: two graduate students and six undergraduate students.

Here’s Chad Chapman’s story:

Chad Chapman is currently a senior at The University of Texas in Austin and is involved in the Air Force ROTC program studying Computer Science. This summer he has been working as an intern at the headquarters of the National Reconnaissance Office in Chantilly, Virginia. The NRO is in charge of designing, building, launching, and maintaining the United State’s intelligence satellites. Being born and raised in Texas his entire life, this internship has given Chad a fantastic opportunity to travel out of the state to work directly in the heart of one of the Intelligence Communities. This experience has provided him a multitude of different opportunities to learn what it’s like to work for the Department of Defense, what active duty is like, and about the many career opportunities the Air Force can provide. Chad’s time working at the NRO has been amazing, and he is thrilled to contribute to something bigger than himself.
