Jun 27, 2018

Here’s Mackenna Shull’s story:

Mackenna Shull is a rising second-year at the University of Texas at Austin, double-majoring in International Relations and Global Studies and Economics. Her track is International Political Economy and her regional focus is Middle Eastern Studies. This summer Mackenna is interning with the State Department, specifically the Political Training Division at the Foreign Service Institute. Thus far, her internship has been filled with amazing opportunities to network and learn. She has been able to sit in on a variety of training classes for Foreign Service Officers, attend forums and symposiums hosted by multiple government agencies and think-tanks around D.C., speak directly with Human Resources about further internship and fellowship opportunities and discuss foreign policy literature. She has also been able to explore the city, such as visiting the museums, viewing the monuments, listening to jazz music in the Sculpture Garden and even attending a free concert in the Kennedy Center.
