Jillian Shrader is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Texas, less than one year from earning her BA degree. As a double major in International Relations and Global Studies and Asian Studies, her work focuses on international security and South Asian-U.S. relations. Jillian served for 3.5 years in the United States Air Force as a Cryptologic Language Analyst, during which she received an A.A. in Pashto Language, and an A.A.S. in Intelligence Studies and Technology. She is a cadet in the USAF Reserve Officer Training Corps program and is set to commission as a Second Lieutenant in the USAF in May 2019. Jillian has proficiency in Pashto, Hindi, and Arabic languages, and has studied at the Paris Institute of Political Sciences in Paris, France and the American Institute for Indian Studies in Delhi, India. She also uses her language skills to teach and mentor Afghan refugee children in the Austin Independent School District.
