SXSW Panel: Threats on the Horizon: From Terrorism to Hunger

A variety of near-term international threats are on the horizon. Terrorism promises to continue being in the headlines, fueled by increasing instability in the Middle East. China’s rising power challenges the existing international order, but its slowing economy and unpredictable markets could also impact economies worldwide. The world’s least developed regions remain the most vulnerable to the effects of climate change, forcing entire communities to migration and hunger. In this session, four experts from The University of Texas at Austin, with rich academic and practical experience in national security, foreign affairs, and international development, will discuss some of these trends.
