Clements Funding Recipient Sarah Fischer tells us about her internship at Vital Voices

Aug 04, 2016

This summer, the Center funded thirteen students and here is Sarah Fischer’s story:

“In May, I began my summer internship with Vital Voices Global Partnership in Washington, D.C. My experience as an Innovation and Strategic Investments intern has been extremely rewarding so far. I’ve had the opportunity to write articles about World Refugee Day and the ANNpower Leadership Forum in New York City, sit in on an interview with educator and leader Kakenya Ntaiya and organize social media campaigns highlighting investments made in young women leaders. While learning the ropes at Vital Voices has been challenging, it is exciting to learn each day about the different ways empowering women leaders can affect positive global change.”

Sarah is currently pursuing a joint B.A.-B.J. degree in International Relations and Journalism. She was a Clements Center Undergraduate Fellow during the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 school years. She will continue the Fellows program during the 2016-2017 academic year, as a senior.
