New Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Fellows Join the [br]Clements Center Team[/br]

Dr. Ionut Popescu joins us as a Postdoctoral Fellow, recently having graduated from Duke University with a doctoral degree in Political Science. His dissertation was entitled “Design and Emergence in the Making of American Grand Strategy.” He is the author of an upcoming book from Johns Hopkins University Press tentatively titled The Process of Grand Strategy: Planning and Improvisation in U.S. Foreign Policy. 

Dr. Ian Johnson joins us as a Postdoctoral Fellow, recently having received his doctoral degree in History from Ohio State University with a dissertation entitled “The Faustian Pact: Secret Soviet-German Cooperation in the Interwar Period.” During the 2015-2016 academic year, he was a fellow with International Security Studies at Yale University.

And finally, Cindy Ewing will join us as a Predoctoral Fellow. A Summer Seminar participant in 2016, she is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in International History from Yale University with a prospective dissertation, entitled “Experiments in Peace: Asian Neutralism, Human Rights, and the Transformation of the United Nations, 1946-1966.”
